EMR and hospital software for urology

Diagnostics, office procedures, theater work, and long stone and prostate follow-up.

About urology

Urology treats the kidneys, ureters, bladder, prostate and male reproductive organs: stones, prostate enlargement, infections, incontinence and cancers. Much of the work is diagnostic and procedural, and stone and prostate disease mean years of surveillance.

What makes this specialty hard to run

The operational problems a system has to answer, before any feature list.

  1. 01

Diagnosis leans on imaging and on urine and blood tests that arrive at different times.

  2. 02

Many visits combine a consultation with a procedure such as a catheter change or a cystoscopy.

  3. 03

Stone and prostate disease mean years of follow-up with repeated measurements such as PSA.

  4. 04

Surgical cases move from the outpatient department to the theater and back to follow-up.

How Nirogix supports urology

Grouped the way the day runs. Every line says whether it is in the product today or planned.

Available todayPlanned, not available yet

Clinical pathways are reference content your clinical team reviews and edits as its own; nothing is ordered or prescribed until a doctor chooses it. Calculators inform a decision and do not write to the record. A line that needs a particular module names it.

The urology consultation

  • Ten urology pathways ready on day one: BPH, kidney stone, ureteric colic, hematuria, overactive bladder, prostatitis, incontinence and more
  • Diagnoses coded from common urology ICD-10-CM codes
  • eGFR and creatinine clearance in the consultation
  • IPSS stored and charted(planned)

Imaging and investigations

  • X-ray KUB, ultrasound and CT ordered with the Radiology module, with the signed report returned to the record
  • Urine and blood tests, including PSA, ordered in the consultation, with flagged results and every earlier result kept
  • With the Urology module, stone and PSA surveillance with reviews filed under each, PSA density computed, and stone size and PSA charted
  • PSA velocity(planned)
  • With the Urology module, uroflowmetry with Qmax and post-void residual trends

Procedures

  • Urinary catheterization recorded as a bedside procedure with consent (Clinical Support)
  • Office procedures priced from your services catalog on the same invoice
  • With the Urology module, cystoscopy, catheter changes, stent removal, urethral dilatation and prostate biopsy as structured records

The operation theater

With the Operation Theater module.

  • Operations booked as theater cases with the checklist, consent and a signed operative note
  • Stents and other implants recorded by batch and serial number, and posted to the inpatient bill
  • Instrument sets traced through sterilization by CSSD

Follow-up

  • A treatment case for each stone or prostate course, holding every review
  • Follow-up dates in one press, and reminders by SMS or WhatsApp through your own accounts

What changes for the practice

Every PSA on one record

Each result stays in date order on the patient’s record, tied to the course it belongs to.

Imaging returned, not chased

KUB and ultrasound reports come back signed to the consultation that ordered them.

Theater checks enforced

Consent and the safety checklist are gates, not paperwork.

Procedures on the same bill

An office procedure is priced from your catalog on the visit’s invoice.

The modules a practice like this turns on

Modules are entitlements: enable what you need now and add the rest when you are ready. Nothing is re-implemented per specialty.

What gets configured for you

Office procedures such as catheter change and cystoscopy in the services catalogInvestigation and imaging catalogs with your own pricesTheaters and slots for urology lists

Most specialties differ in configuration rather than code: the same modules are enabled and set up differently. Where a specialty has a module of its own (twenty-three today, from Pediatrics, Obstetrics and Dentistry to Cardiology, Oncology and Nephrology), it is switched on per hospital. Where a specialty needs a capability the platform does not have yet, we say so during the demo rather than after you buy.

Questions we are asked

Can we track PSA over time?

Every PSA result stays on the record in date order. With the Urology module, a PSA placed under watch has its reviews filed under it, with PSA density computed and PSA charted. PSA velocity is planned.

Can we record uroflowmetry?

Yes, with the Urology module: the study as the uroflowmeter measured it, with Qmax and post-void residual charted across studies.

Is there a urology module?

Yes, switched on per hospital: the urology consultation, uroflowmetry, stone and PSA surveillance and office procedures. Its forms are being reviewed by a urologist before customer use. IPSS is planned, waiting on its license check.
