Telemedicine software lets a doctor consult remotely and produce the same clinical and financial record as an in-person visit. In India it is governed by the Telemedicine Practice Guidelines 2020, which set out how consent and identity are established, what may be prescribed remotely and what must be documented.
What is built
A video consultation is an appointment with the video mode and an OPD visit like any other, so the queue, the fee, the bill and the record all follow the rules your hospital already has.
- Video consultations booked at the desk, or asked for online by the patient and approved by your staff

- The patient’s consent recorded: by asking online, on screen in the patient app, or by the doctor on the call

What this does not do
The call itself runs on a Jitsi Meet server and opens in a new browser tab; it is not inside Nirogix, and nothing about it is recorded. Until a server in India is set up for your hospital, calls run on the public Jitsi Meet service. A medicine typed as free text carries no schedule, so the prohibited-medicine check applies only to medicines chosen from your master, and the rest stays the doctor’s responsibility as the guidelines say.

Can we do video consultations on Nirogix today?
Yes. The doctor starts the call from the appointment, the patient joins from the patient app, and the consultation is recorded and signed like any other visit.
Is the call recorded or stored?
No. The call runs on Jitsi Meet in a separate tab and nothing about it is recorded. What is kept is the consultation record: consent, the identity check, who joined and when, and the signed note.
Which guidelines does it follow?
The Telemedicine Practice Guidelines 2020: consent, the identity check and the prohibited-medicine list are recorded or enforced in the product rather than left to a policy document.
