EMR and hospital software for gynecology & obstetrics

Long-running episodes of care, scheduled scans, and strict confidentiality.

An anatomical illustration of the female reproductive system showing the uterus, fallopian tubes and ovaries.

About gynecology & obstetrics

Obstetrics and gynecology care for women from adolescence through pregnancy to menopause: menstrual and reproductive problems, infections, infertility and contraception, antenatal care and delivery. The records are among the most sensitive a hospital keeps, and a pregnancy is a months-long episode with a fixed schedule.

What makes this specialty hard to run

The operational problems a system has to answer, before any feature list.

  1. 01

Antenatal care is a months-long episode with a fixed visit schedule.

  2. 02

Each visit combines examination, scans, and labs from different departments.

  3. 03

Records are unusually sensitive, even by clinical standards.

  4. 04

Delivery and surgery move the patient from the clinic to a bed, the theater and back.

How Nirogix supports gynecology & obstetrics

Grouped the way the day runs. Every line says whether it is in the product today or planned.

Available todayPlanned, not available yet

Clinical pathways are reference content your clinical team reviews and edits as its own; nothing is ordered or prescribed until a doctor chooses it. Calculators inform a decision and do not write to the record. A line that needs a particular module names it.

The gynecology consultation

  • Eleven gynecology pathways ready on day one: PCOS, dysmenorrhea, heavy menstrual bleeding, vaginal infections, fibroids, infertility, contraception counseling, menopause and more
  • Diagnoses coded from common OB-GYN ICD-10-CM codes
  • Access by role on every request, and every change written to the audit trail
  • With the Gynecology module, menstrual history, cervical and breast screening with a recall date, contraception visits and office procedures as structured records
  • With the Gynecology module, the infertility workup and ovulation induction cycles with follicle tracking scans for each ovary

Pregnancy

  • Nine obstetric pathways: antenatal checkup, anemia, gestational diabetes, gestational hypertension, preeclampsia, hyperemesis, threatened miscarriage, UTI and postpartum follow-up
  • EDD and gestational age in the consultation, and the Bishop score for clinicians
  • A treatment case that holds the pregnancy, so every antenatal visit attaches to it
  • With the Obstetrics module, a pregnancy record with the EDD from the LMP and from the early scan, antenatal visits filed under it, and the next visit the clinician sets on a due list
  • With the Obstetrics module, risk reviews with the factors the clinician identified
  • An antenatal schedule computed from your protocol, and a printed antenatal card(planned)

Investigations and ultrasound

  • Blood and urine tests ordered in the consultation, with flagged results beside the order
  • Ultrasound ordered with the Radiology module, with the signed report returned to the record
  • With the Obstetrics module, obstetric scans recorded as reported and their biometry charted across the pregnancy, with no field for fetal sex
  • Fetal growth centiles(planned)
  • PC-PNDT Form F and registers for obstetric ultrasound(planned)

Delivery and the ward

  • Admission to a maternity ward and bed, with signed rounds, the nursing chart and a printed discharge summary
  • Cesarean section and gynecological surgery as theater cases, with the checklist, consent and a signed operative note
  • Blood units crossmatched and issued by the Blood Bank
  • With the Obstetrics module, a delivery record for each baby, with the mode of delivery, blood loss, birth weight and APGAR, and the Bishop score stored
  • The partograph, and the newborn linked to the mother(planned)

Follow-up

  • Antenatal visits booked one by one, with reminders by SMS or WhatsApp through your own accounts
  • Td and other immunizations recorded on the patient’s schedule
  • With the Obstetrics module, postnatal visits filed under the pregnancy
  • The EPDS(planned)

What changes for the practice

A pregnancy on one case

Every antenatal visit, test and scan attaches to the pregnancy it belongs to.

Sensitive records, narrowly read

Who can open the clinical note follows the role, and every change is audited.

Clinic, theater and ward joined

A cesarean is booked, checked, recorded and billed on the same patient record.

Blood ready when it is needed

Units are crossmatched and issued by the Blood Bank against the patient.

The modules a practice like this turns on

Modules are entitlements: enable what you need now and add the rest when you are ready. Nothing is re-implemented per specialty.

What gets configured for you

Visit scheduling across a long episodeRole-based access to sensitive recordsInvestigation catalog and pricing

Most specialties differ in configuration rather than code: the same modules are enabled and set up differently. Where a specialty has a module of its own (twenty-three today, from Pediatrics, Obstetrics and Dentistry to Cardiology, Oncology and Nephrology), it is switched on per hospital. Where a specialty needs a capability the platform does not have yet, we say so during the demo rather than after you buy.

Questions we are asked

Is there an antenatal card or ANC schedule?

With the Obstetrics module, each pregnancy is a record with its antenatal visits filed under it, and the next visit the clinician sets appears on a due list. A schedule computed from your protocol and a printed antenatal card are planned.

Is PC-PNDT supported?

No. Ultrasound is ordered and reported in the product, but Form F and the PC-PNDT registers are not built, so a hospital offering obstetric ultrasound keeps them as it does today.

Can we admit for delivery and perform cesareans?

Yes. Admission handles the maternity ward and bed, and the Operation Theater module runs the cesarean with its checklist, consent and signed note. With the Obstetrics module the delivery is recorded for each baby; the partograph is planned.

Is there a gynecology or obstetrics module?

Yes, two, each switched on per hospital. Gynecology: menstrual history, screening, contraception, the infertility workup and office procedures. Obstetrics: the pregnancy record, antenatal visits, scans, risk reviews, delivery and postnatal care; delivery needs Admission (IPD). Their forms are being reviewed by an obstetrician and gynecologist before customer use.
